Lauren Alaina spoke with THR after Thursday’s results show and revealed what she thought of the strongly opinionated Jimmy Iovine, her favorite singers on American Idol 2012, and who she thinks is going to win it all. You might be surprised to hear her answer.
First Lauren says she wants a girl to win, but then predicts a returning season 10 contestant would be the one to take the crown. Lauren quickly covers all her bases though when she adds it could be the most popular female singer so far this season as well.
I’m surprised she went with Colton Dixon as her predicted winner instead of Phillip Phillips, but I’d wager both singers will go far in American Idol 2012 so that was still probably a fairly safe guess. Balancing things off with the possibility of Jessica Sanchez taking the big win is a no brainer, but we’ve still got a long way to go in this American Idol season so anything can happen.
What do you think of Lauren’s picks for her favorites and the potential winner?

Lauren Alaina has scored a gig on Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party tour, joining the ‘Tattoos on This Town’ headlining singer and Luke Bryan for the 2012 outing. The tour marks Lauren’s first since her stint on the American Idol’s Live! tour, following her second place finish on the wildly popular reality show just behind fellow country singer, Scotty McCreery.
“I am so excited to be a part of the Jason Aldean tour with Luke Bryan!” gushes the ‘Georgia Peaches’ singer. “I am a huge fan of both of them. If I wasn’t a part of the line up, I would want to be in the front row! I am honored that my first major country tour will allow me to share the stage with two fellow Georgia artists. That is definitely my kind of party!”
Lauren’s ‘Georgia Peaches,’ the second single from her debut album, ‘Wildflower,’ is currently climbing the charts. The teen star first scored big with ‘Like My Mother Does,’ which entered Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 chart at No. 20, in addition to No. 9 on the trade’s Digital Songs chart, with first-week sales of more than 120,000.
“Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of releasing my own album,” Lauren says. “I am so excited to share it with the fans who have been supporting me throughout my journey. I hope they enjoy listening to this record as much as I did making it.”
